Beyond

Greetings all!

Well it has been a long time since I posted anything here, so why not say 'hi' with a brand new machinima!

This one is an entry for The University of Western Australia's MachinimUWA VII: Transcending Borders challenge and is a story about love and looking beyond borders for hope.
Hope you all like it!

Virtually Happy

Well, here is what I have been up to this last month.
Virtually Happy, a music video with Pharrell Williams - Happy song.

This was a pretty big production with over 90 people in total and at places like Builder's Brewery, Hollywood Airport, Luskwood, Toby's Juke Joint and more. It made it difficult to organize sometimes, especially when you want to make sure you keep lag as low as possible, but in the end we did it :D

Hope you all enjoy it and big thanks to everyone that was involved!!!

Ed Barber at Baja Norte

On 11 June 2014, Ed Barber had a live performance over at Baja Norte, so I decided to do a bit of filming and record one of the covers he was doing!

Here is the result!

Special Thanks too Lauren Bentham for giving me permission to film at Baja Norte :D

Second Life Joystick Throttle Fix

You can find a copy of this guide over at my new website!

Greetings all,

After looking for a fix for some time now, I have finally found the solution to an issue that have been affecting some people, including myself, for a while now in Second Life.

When using a joystick to control the camera or your avatar in Second Life, some joystick's throttle control is not recognized.

How many joysticks are affected by this I do not know, but I can confirm the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro is one. I can also confirm not all joysticks are affected by this as I had some cheap joystick in the past that worked fine.

The answer?
vJoy + UJR

What is vJoy?
"vJoy is a device driver that bridges the gap between any device that is not a joystick and an application that requires a joystick. If you develop an application for windows that requires user physical input you should consider incorporating vJoy into your product."

What is UJR?
"UJR is an application to remap one or more physical joysticks onto one virtual joystick.
It supports axis inversion, deadzones, sensitivity, axis merging and more."

Below is instructions on what to do.
(1) Plug in your Joystick.
(4) In UJR, under the "Bindings" tab, set all the keys.
(5) In UJR, under the "Buttons 1" tab, bottom right, select "Auto Configure Stick".
(6) In UJR, under the "Axes 1" tab, bottom right, select "Auto Configure Stick".
(7) Now open Second Life under the joystick settings, it should show it is using vJoy Device.

Now below is the settings I have setup for UJR and Second Life since the Auto Configure settings binded some axis I do not use.

UJR Settings

Second Life Settings

When I finished setting everything up, I realized that the #1 button on my joystick do not register in Second Life to activate the Flycam, which it should based on the settings under the "Button 1" tab.

To fix this:
-I activate "QuickBind Select" binding I setup in step (4);
-I pressed the #1 joystick button;
-I activate "QuickBind" binding I setup in step (4);
-I pressed the #1 joystick button;
After that it worked fine, although I am not sure why (5) did not work the first place.

Hopefully this works for everyone, but if you have trouble, feel free to comment below or on the forum topics I have posted this and I will try and help as best I can :D

FN Series

Greetings all!

Time for a new product... well more a series. FN Series... which is just short for Furniture Series.
First in line - a Wardrobe!

I have been looking for a wardrobe for a while but could not find one exactly like I wanted. So instead, I decided to create my own. I tried to keep it low prim, but at the same time also add smaller details.

There is a simple design in the wardrobe doors and drawers, with small details such as hinges on the sides of the doors. The doors and drawers can open & close, and just for immersion, whenever you close the door and there is drawers open in the way, it will automatically close the drawers too.

I have included two versions, one with clothing on the shelves and in the drawers, and another without any clothing. There is also a basic menu system that includes options to change between four different textures and allow you to resize it quickly.

This Wardrobe is Modify and Copy, so you can manually change the color, textures or even unlink parts without breaking anything.

Hope everyone likes it!

Another Update?! Yes! Comrido V3

Time for another update.

This update has been mostly done for a few days now, but I had to write the new documentation and fix some smaller issues, which I got time to do today too... so here is version 3 of Comrido.

So what is new?
The two main features is a Setup Hud for the Comrido U/RGU units and a Relay to allow multiple adjacent region communication.

The setup menu that used to be in the Comrido U and RGU unit is now completely removed and replaced by a HUD that you can retrieve by clicking the unit. When wearing it, you can click any unit you own and can set all the settings through the HUD.

This should hopefully make setting up the HUD a lot faster and easier.

The second big feature is the Comrido Relays. By placing these relays on the Region borders within 20m radius of each other, it allows all units to communicate over all the regions connected in this way. This should allow people to stay in touch in a community that cross several regions.

Other than that, there has been code optimization for all of the units including the walkie talkies, so everything related to the Comrido system has been update. For those that already own a Comrido unit should have recieved your update by now, if not, you can get it from the redeliver terminal here.

Hope everyone likes the new update!

Theme Update

As mentioned before, I was looking into updating this blog a bit.

Well here it is!

So far I like it, and it works pretty well, especially when it comes to different resolution screens.
It hides most of the clutter with the option window on the top right, but also makes it easy accessible.

I will try this out for a few days and see how it goes, maybe change a color or so here and there, but overall it is good to go.

For those interested, I found the theme over at newbloggerthemes.com

Feel free to let me know what you think in the comments below, especially if you seen the theme before!

AirGPS v2.5 Update

Greetings all!

AirGPS has just been updated to version 2.5. Here is what is new!

You will now notice the altitude of the targeted airport will be displayed next to the distance meter. This will hopefully make it easier to approach airports, especially the ones that is up in the air.

The panels has been updated to display where the altitude is shown and also the version of the HUD.

In the background, the scripts has been changed a lot to work faster and smarter in the way it handles information. The old resize script by Brilliant Scientist, although awesome, has been replaced completely by llScaleByFactor() since it does the same thing.

Hope everyone likes the new update!

Quick hello!

Greetings all!

I know I have been very absent from this blog for a long time.... so long, that I can wish everyone a Happy New Year actually.

In any case, I am still here and looking into updating this blog a bit... I think it is time for a bit of a change here!

See everyone soon!
